I
receive the loveliest letters from readers and they're often filled with
questions about my books, about upcoming books, about ideas, etc. Below
are a few of the most frequently asked questions, and my answers--at least
they're the best answers I can come up with right now!
When is I'M NO ANGEL coming out?
Do
you travel to all the places you write about?
What book are you working on now?
Where do you get your ideas?
Who
comes up with the titles for your books?
Will the Remingtons and Wildes appear in more books (especially Beau
Remington)?
Will you ever again write another time travel or ghost story?
Will Merry Nicholas ever appear in another book?
What authors do you read?
How can I get a copy of your out of print books?
Will ENCHANTED, WISHES COME TRUE, TILL THE END OF TIME and IF I CAN'T HAVE
YOU ever be reprinted?
Q: When is I'M NO ANGEL coming out?
A:
I'M NO
ANGEL was released on June 29,
2004

Q: Do you travel to all the places you write about?
A:
I wish! I
have been to Montana and Wyoming numerous times. In fact, Bob and I once owned
ten acres in Montana and had hoped to retire there. (That, of course, was before
we purchased our retirement home in far northern California.) So, fortunately, I
do know a lot about Montana and Wyoming, which made the stories that take place
there easier to tell. I've also written a few books that take place in Palm
Beach, Florida. That, my friends, is a place I go to in my dreams. I envision
owning a fabulous marble mansion on the ocean, palm trees swaying in the warm
summer breezes, and an oh-so-fabulous hunk serving me mai tais as I lounge by
the pool, writing my books. But, no, I've never been there. I do, however, love
Florida. I've been there twice: to Orlando for Walt Disney World, and to St.
Augustine, where I found the inspiration to write LOOKING FOR A HERO.

Q: What book are you working on now?
A:
I'm not
telling! I'll let you know after I'M NO ANGEL is published. (I'd rather let you
guess after you read that book. Who knows, I may have a contest, and we'll see
how many people answer correctly.

Q: Where do you get your ideas?
A:
Here,
there and everywhere. Honestly, I wish I knew. Sometimes they come in a flash,
totally out of the blue, and I jot them down just as quickly so I don't forget.
Sometimes I sit in my recliner for days on end agonizing over a plot line. I may
know who the hero and heroine are (sometimes they're secondary characters from
another book), but I don't have a story for them. Lauren Remington from BORN TO
BE WILD and Mike Flynn from SOMETHING WILD were both in my book WIFE FOR A DAY.
You wouldn't believe the number of letters I received from readers asking me if
I was going to write their story(ies), and write them I did. However, when I
first began writing WIFE FOR A DAY, Mike Flynn and Lauren Remington were going
to have their own secondary love story. I wrote and wrote and wrote about them,
but in the end, I couldn't make them anything more than friends. Obviously they
knew better than I did who they should be paired up with, so they helped me
create Max Wilde and Charity Wilde, and their romances blossomed from there.

Q: Who comes up with the titles for your books?
A:
Avon (my
fabulous publisher) has come up with quite a few of my titles: IF I CAN'T HAVE
YOU, LOOKING FOR A HERO, WIFE FOR A DAY and BRIDE FOR A NIGHT. I titled TILL THE
END OF TIME all by myself. It was the perfect title for my ghost story. BORN TO
BE WILD, SOMETHING WILD, STUCK ON YOU, AND THEN HE KISSED ME, and I'M NO ANGEL
were my titles, and fortunately they stuck. Sometimes I need a title to help me
create the story. I'M NO ANGEL was definitely a title like that. When you read
the book, you'll see how perfectly it fits both Angel Devlin, the heroine, and
Tom Donovan, the hero.

Q: Will the Remingtons and Wildes appear in more books
(especially Beau Remington)?
A:
I really
wish I had an answer for that. The only thing I can say is: I don't have any
more Remington or Wilde books planned at this time. I've married off just about
everyone who appeared in those stories, except poor Beau, but he was only a 16
year old when WIFE FOR A DAY came out in 1999. I've got to let him age a little
bit before he's first-class hero material!

Q: Will you ever again write another time travel or ghost
story?
A:
Ah, now
that would be fun! I live in hope that that will happen someday, I just don't
have one planned at present.

Q: Will Merry Nicholas ever appear in another book?
A:
That would
be fun, too! I'd love to write another Christmas-in-July story, with the
delightful Mrs. Santa Claus winging her way into someone's life and helping that
person find true love. For now she appears only in ENCHANTED and WISHES COME
TRUE, but I have the feeling she will appear again one day.

Q: What authors do you read?
A:
I'm a
sucker for a lot of different authors and different genres and I buy a whole lot
of books by favorite authors but, sadly, I rarely find time to read as much as I
would like to. I love historical romance, paranormal romance, and cozy
mysteries. Check out My Favorite Things for a list of my all-time favorite
books. To that you could add anything written by Jude Deveraux and Lorraine
Heath. I adore Susan Elizabeth Phillips, Janet Evanovich, and the Elvis Cole
mysteries written by Robert Crais. My tastes are always changing, so there's no
telling what I'll love to read next week. And I have a lot of fabulous writer
friends whose books I love--but if I started listing everyone, I'd never get to
the end of this answer!

Q: How can I get a copy of your out of print books?
A:
ENCHANTED,
WISHES COME TRUE, TILL THE END OF TIME and IF I CAN'T HAVE YOU are definitely
hard to find. My hope is that all four of these books found their way to Keeper
shelves, because, to me, they're very special. Occasionally they turn up in used
book stores, so keep hunting. Check your local library. Or go to
www.NewAndUsedBooks.com. If the book isn't available, fill our the Wish List,
and who knows, a copy might magically appear.

Q: Will ENCHANTED, WISHES COME TRUE, TILL THE END OF TIME and
IF I CAN'T HAVE YOU ever be reprinted?
A:
I hope so!
Only time will tell.
